When I saw the ADO AIR CARBON in the 'Amble Latte' color, I was like, 'This is gonna be a hit with these colors.' It's a real step away from the usual boring, single-color thing, and the color balance is just spot on. I was even picturing this ADOEBIKES employee, totally over seeing the same old frame colors – you know, black, silver, white… Then one morning, sipping his latte before work, he sees those warm, inspiring colors in his coffee. He starts obsessing, picturing all their ebikes in his cup. And then, bam! One day he walks into the office with the PERFECT design, for an ebike as light as the foam on a latte...

About ADO "A Dece Oasis"
The name ADO is derived from "oasis in the desert," inspired by the crescent-shaped spring along the ancient Silk Road called Yueyaquan. Yueyaquan serves as a bridge between Eastern and Western civilizations, flowing continuously through the desert for thousands of years. In ancient times, traversing the desert was a challenging feat for travelers, but Yueyaquan provided them with hope and motivation.
"Fold seamlessly in just 15 seconds..."
The ADO Air Carbon is a folding, 20-inch e-bike clearly targeted at the urban commuter who values portability and style.
Presented in June 2024 via an Indiegogo campaign, it represents a significant step up from ADO's previous Air 20 series, primarily through its full carbon fiber frame.
The frame contributes to a remarkably low claimed weight of 14kg (30.86 lbs) (net, excluding accessories) or 14.5kg (31.97 lbs) (full, including accessories). This lightweight design is paramount for a folding e-bike, as it directly impacts ease of carrying.
The frame is explicitly stated to be made from "EPS carbon fiber," suggesting a specific manufacturing process (Expanded Polystyrene molding). However, while EPS molding can produce strong and lightweight frames, the type of carbon fiber (e.g., T700, T800, etc.) and resin used are not specified – a significant omission that raises questions about long-term durability...
Powering the AIR CARBON is a Bafang 250W brushless DC rear hub motor, producing 35Nm of torque. This is paired with a dual-sided torque sensor. The Bafang motor is described as quiet (below 55dB), and the dual-sided torque sensor intelligently adjusts motor output based on pedal force, aiming for a smooth and efficient ride.
However, the 35Nm torque figure, while adequate for flat city streets, suggests limited climbing ability. The motor supports a top speed of 25 km/h ~ 15 mph.
The battery is a 36V/9.6Ah unit, described as "portable" and providing a claimed maximum range of 100 km ~ 62 miles. This figure likely represents ideal conditions. Real-world range will almost certainly be lower. ADO states a 4-6 hour charging time.
The battery features an integrated lock within a quick-release clamp.
The AIR CARBON boasts a 2.4" IPS color display (IPX7), providing clear visibility. It also includes integrated front (E-Mark, IPX5 rated) and rear lights.
Braking is handled by front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, providing reliable stopping power. The bike features 20*1.75 inch tires.
The Air Carbon utilizes a single-speed drivetrain and a carbon belt drive, eliminating the need for a traditional chain and offering a quieter, lower-maintenance ride.
ADO promotes a "Smart APP" for ride recording, navigation (with directions cast to the display), and communication with their support team.
For enhanced security, the Air Carbon features a "Smart Connect" module. This provides real-time data communication, an alert zone function (notifying you if the bike leaves a designated area), GPS tracking with a "Find My Bike" feature, and movement detection (alerting if the bike shifts or tips).
Access to these smart functionalities requires a subscription of €10 per year after an initial one-year free trial.
A-Max. Seat Height 1000 ; B-Min. Seat Height 900 ; C-Standover Height 650 ; D-Seat Tube Length 335 ; E-Handlebar Height 1130 ; F-Bottom Bracket 175 ; G-Front to Center 580 ; H-Wheelbase 980 ; I-Top Tube Length 500 ; J-Total Length 1480
Definitely a winner, this ADO AIR CARBON is a real gem. Clearly designed for city riding, it really manages to impress on all fronts. Of course, it's not perfect – you can see some minor complaints if you check out buyer reviews – but A DECE OASIS (ADO) has a really responsive customer service. In the 20-inch foldable category, with its lightweight carbon fiber frame, this is a seriously good smart ebike!
I'd definitely take their designers out for a latte.
The Ado AIR CARBON showcases a compelling blend of technology, design, and practicality. With its advanced sensors, GPS tracking, sleek aesthetics, and remarkably lightweight, foldable carbon fiber frame, it exemplifies Ado's commitment to producing premium, urban-focused e-bikes. The brand's emphasis on carbon fiber construction, combined with a thoughtful selection of components, results in a product that is both stylish and highly functional for city commuters. However potential buyers have to consider the "Smart Connect" subscription.
